Be The Master Of Your Own Quarantine

We are all very much in the middle of some unprecedented times. Whether you are spending this time bundled up with family, going it alone or bravely venturing out to work as one of our country's key workers, these times are different for each of us.

Find your new signature dish

Do you remember that gorgeous dish you saw on Pinterest but then you read the ingredients list and prep time and thought “i do not have time for that”? Well, now you do.

Pull together some ingredients from the fridge, find yourself a recipe and get cooking. Exploring new things and trying new flavours is a great way to spice up all of your new found free time. It is also a great time to take up baking. You may be sick of seeing your friend’s lemon sponge or banana bread on social media, but if you can’t beat them – join them! Baking is good for the soul and not only does it distract you from the madness for an hour or two, you also get a delicious treat at the end of it. Win – Win!

Create something new

If you are already into crafting, we are sure you have been keeping yourself busy. But if you are looking for a new hobby then why not have a go at something creative. From crochet to embroidery, sewing to painting and even sculpture making, find a creative outlet that you enjoy and see what you create.

We do not recommend leaving the house to purchase materials if you do not already possess them but websites like Amazon are still delivering and you should be able to stock up on items there. We would love to see what you come up with while you are quarantined and you can share your pictures with us on Facebook or Instagram under the hashtag #KlassCrafts

Get some fresh air

We have covered exercise in our blogs before and if you are an avid Klass shopper, you will know we love us some yoga. If you want to know about Yoga and how you can use it to relax, please have a read of our other blog here:

However, if you have been keeping up with your healthy lifestyle and not pigging out on the couch with some chocolate and wine every night – we salute you, you are stronger than us! It is so easy to just crawl under a blanket and forget the world right now and if that is what you want to do then do it – we all deal with things differently. In line with the current government guidelines, we are allowed 1 hour of outdoor exercise a day as long as we abide by social distancing rules.

So we recommend getting up, showered and ready for the day and go for a nice walk, jog or even run if you’re feeling up to it. Spend some time in your garden making it look beautiful ready for the summer or dust off the bikes in the shed and go for a ride. As long as you are keeping 2 metres away from those not in your household, get outside and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. Your mental health will be grateful.

Music and Organisation

Music is a great way to change your mood. Whether you want motivation, to dance or even to have a little cry, music is a great tool to have at a time like this. Keep your music cheerful and upbeat to help with your mental health and try to think positively. Open your windows, get the music flowing and try to make the best out of this little bit down time as best you can.

One way to really help you feel clearer and more focused is to organise your surroundings. A tidy house is a tidy mind and now is the perfect opportunity to go through the dreaded wardrobes and have a good clear out. Organise things into piles such as sell, donate and dispose and use websites such as eBay and Depop to get yourself a little extra cash for those old clothes. Organisation experts such as Marie Kondo have videos on youtube that can give you tips and tricks on how to organise your house to perfection!

We like to give you little tips and tricks to help keep you positive and healthy throughout this unprecedented time. However, that does not take away from the seriousness of what is currently going on and we would like to thank our Key Workers, NHS and otherwise who are risking their lives to help keep us safe. We can all do our part by staying at home and staying occupied while we fight this pandemic.

We would like to thank our Klass customers for their continued support and we truly look forward to welcoming you back with open arms to all of our stores once this has finished.

Stay safe,
